Opera 9.62 released

Let's hope this isn't a new tradition at Opera Software, but a new security was released only 9 days later, and thus is a recommended update for all Opera users.

With three releases in one month, yes 9.6 in itself was a security update as well, Opera as a browser received a stain on their security profile, though it was unlikely that the issues were exploited in the wild.

An extremely severe issue was fixed where it was possible to use the history search feature to execute arbitrary code. This was previously reported on large sites, such as ZDNet, but the example of the exploit was later removed, possibly to give Opera Software some time to address it.

Another highly severe issue was related to the Links panel, which allowed a form of cross site scripting.

You can get the latest, and secure, release of Opera 9.62 at the official download site.
